No reel should be without
sufficient backing. For saltwater flyfishing use at least 25 pound test line (30 is
preferable) and at least 100 yards.
Braided White Dacron on spools. Precision
processed with uniform strength.
12-Pound Test for Light Lines and Smaller Reels. 20-Pound Test for Trout, Bass, and Most
Freshwater Fishing. 30-pound backing is used as much for its large diameter as for extra
strength. When winding under a lot of pressure, 30-pound backing won't bind itself into
the coils already on the spool.
Also line winders, braided loops, fly line
cleaner, mini-head system and more!
