Redfish
(aka reds,
drum, puppy drum, channel bass) are
the prized inshore game fish for tens of thousands of anglers! From
Virginia and the Carolinas, down through Florida, into Texas and other Gulf
states the quest to catch redfish is eagerly pursued by thousands of fly
fishermen every year.
While many fly patterns will take
redfish including many varieties
of clousers, deceivers
and natural patterns certain flies have
stood out as consistent producers of redfish. We have created this page to
better help you find patterns well known and proven for reds.
Many of these patterns are
also proven effective for a number of other game fish including sea trout,
flounder and snook!

Jaiem,
Thought you might like to know that I took Tim Marshall
from Chapel Hill out the other day for redfish. He had
some really nice baitfish patterns that he showed me. I
mentioned to him that those looked good and that he should
try one. He got them from you. To make a long
story short he caught a 22 inch redfish on one. It was
beautiful. He made along cast in the wind to a little
pocket in the grass and the fish hit it after the second
strip. BTW, your flies were really nice looking too. Take
care and catch them stripers.
